About

About this site

From 2006 to 2022 this address hosted the official site of a New Zealand Top Fuel drag bike team. This is an independent history site with no connection to that team, its company or its rider.

topfueldragbike is an independent reference on New Zealand drag racing and drag bike culture: how the sport started here, where it has been run, how the classes and machines work, and what a meeting looks like from the fence and from the pits.

Who writes it

The topfueldragbike editors. We are enthusiasts and researchers, not a team, a club, a promoter, a track or a sanctioning body. We do not take part in the sport's governance and we do not sell anything.

How we work

  • History is written from published sources, linked in each piece. Where sources are thin or disagree we say so, using words like "believed to be" and "recorded as".
  • We do not profile living riders or crews, and we name individuals only where a published source ties them to a documented event.
  • Results and records are mentioned in the past tense, with a year and a source, and never as the current state of a class.
  • Diagrams are drawn for this site. We do not reuse old team photos, magazine scans or liveries.
  • Nothing here is safety, medical or licensing advice. For that, go to the track, the NZDRA, MotorSport New Zealand or Motorcycling New Zealand.

Corrections

If a piece gets something wrong, the source we would most like to see is a published one: a club history, a newspaper report on Papers Past or an association record. See the contact page for why there is no inbox.
