People
For every rider at the start line there is a crew behind them, a starter, a timing operator, a scrutineer, and a few volunteers holding the place together. This section is about those roles and how people find their way into them.
We write about roles, not personalities. We do not profile living riders or crews, and where a historical figure appears it is because a published source names them in connection with a documented event.
